iPod Style

最近「生きる」とは何か、ということについてよく考える。定義するのは簡単だ。生きるとは、食べるものと着るものと寝るところを用意することだ。それらを用意する力を生活力という。

昔はこれがとても難しいことだった。コンビニもないし外食は金銭的に無理があった。服だって、ユニクロもなければしまむらも無かった。だから人は力を合わせて生きなくてはならなかった。それはジェンダーという社会的な性役割を生む結果にもなった。

その当時の大人像は、ただ黙々と働き、食べるものと、着るものと、寝るところを用意する日々を送ることだった。

だが時代は変わってしまった。資本主義経済、グローバリゼーションが生み出したものは、安くておいしい食事、安くて丈夫な服、安くて粗末だけど充分な寝床だった。少々のお金さえあれば、人は生きていけるようになった。

だからこそ、孤独の2文字が浮き立った。
