アンダーソン： 困ったインタビューになりそうですね。私はジャーナリズムという言葉は使いません。

シュピーゲル： それでは、新聞ではどうですか？米国だけでなく世界中で危機に陥っていますが。

アンダーソン： すみませんが、私はメディアという言葉も使いません。ニュースという言葉もね。そういった言葉はもはや何の意味も持たないと思います。それは20世紀において「パブリッシュするとは何か」を定めた言葉でした。今となっては、これらの言葉は障壁にしかなっていません。「馬のない馬車」のように、私たちの思考を邪魔しているのです。
